DRAFT: Up-popping and Down-popping

Up-popping and down-popping are such useful terms when talking about UI design. But googling them yields bupkes so, here we go. You’re welcome, internet.

The terms were coined by Erik Kennedy. The author was inspired by a classic The Oatmeal post on Design Hell. And as they point out, you could instead talk about “visual weight” but that’s boring. Also it’s not verbable. So up-pop and down-pop it is.
